Camphinie Guest Loge

Geraldine’s Review

we loved staying in your house which you have restored so beautifully and sympathetically – totally in harmony with the vernacular of the area.  We felt so utterly comfortable and at home.  The flow of the house worked very well as a holiday home for our family of 6 and the outside patio has a most spectacular setting and vista.

We spent many wonderful evenings, sipping rose wine (and sometimes French champagne!) and eating al fresco at  your wonderful rustic table.

I loved  your jardin sauvage, with all its wild herbs  and creeping roses and lavender bushes .  As Guy told you, my niece~s husband even did some kite flying on your  neighbour`s field , much to t he amazement of the farmer!  We did a lot of cycling in the area and found some great routes to take and lots of interesting villages to see. By the way, Guy was very helpful  and charming and took us to see the home of that  Dutch family that he looks after – I regretted that we hadn`t the chance to invite him around for dinner.

The countryside around Labastide Murat is beautiful and the village itself quite quaint, with a great boulangerie.

We thought that winter at la Camphinie would be wonderful, with a roaring fire and walks and rides in a different sort of countryside. Perhaps one day!

Regards,

Menno and Geraldine
