Cycling, using a detailed map (1:1,25 scale) there are hundreds of cycle routes major and minor;
- Down the Vers Valley to Vers or even Cahors and back down the Cele Valley via Lauzes to St Cirq-Lapopie returning via Vers.
- Plenty of local farm roads, all tarred and to Labastide Murat to buy the bread & milk is a pleasant easy ride.
Albi, birthplace of artist Toulouse Lautrec with its famous cathedral, market and Museum & gallery of Toulouse Lautrec
Boating down the Dordogne 1 ½ hrs drive to get there. One of life’s great experiences. All day activity, leave early!
World famous pre-historic cave paintings of Peche Merle down the Cele Valley nearby Cabrerets, 15kms drive, or visit the world famous potholes of Padirac.
St Cirq Lapopie mediæval town perched on top of a precipice above the Lot River 30min’s drive.
Rocamadour, the famous and spectacular pilgrimage town on the Route Compostella 30min’s drive.
Gourdon, another early fortified hill town with its impressive ramparts and annual market.
Sarlat famous Mediaeval town with a great market on Wed & Sat but very touristy.
Walk the paths of Saint Jacques de Compostella, nearby Rocamadour.
Walk down the valley below the house and and turn right at the bottom and across and up to the Templar Castle (ask how to get there, too difficult to explain)

Skiing the Pyrenees approximately 3 hours drive. Visit the Airbus factory at Toulouse Airport Blagrac. Never done it ourselves but we understand that it is a great experience. You will see the Airbus A380 in manufacture. You need to book with one of the sub-contracted tour operators. Go to the Airbus website (www.airbus.com) for details and follow the FAQ link. Click on "How can I visit the Airbus factory" which puts you in touch with Taxiway, or you can go directly to their site at www.taxiway.fr. You need to arrive at about 11h00, finish at 12h30 and go on to lunch at Toulouse Centre. (The Labastide-Murat Office du Tourisme is always helpful with ideas of things to do).
